e2fsck-static software package provides statically-linked version of the ext2/ext3/ext4 filesystem checker, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install e2fsck-static
e2fsck-static is installed in your system.
Make ensure the e2fsck-static package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep e2fsck-static *
You will get with e2fsck-static package name, version, architecture and description in a table
